Introducing The Forgotten Barrel Society

Wild Mind Artisan Ales - Forgotten Barrel Society - Barrel Racks

When we opened Wild Mind in 2016, we set out to create high-quality, one-of-a-kind beers using a combination of traditional and unconventional brewing methods, barrel-aging, and our native wild yeast. While we’re incredibly proud of the beers we’ve produced so far, you haven’t seen anything yet.

More than half of the beer we produce makes its way into barrels or foeders to ferment and develop a greater depth of flavor, which takes a lot of time. (We’re releasing our first coolship beers, Spontané and Spontané: Bramble, this weekend at Festival of Oak after waiting more than a year to share these funky beers with you.)

As more and more barrel-aged beers become ready for release, we want to make sure the bottles get into the hands of our most passionate, die-hard customers. To make this happen, we’re launching The Forgotten Barrel Society, a brewery membership club focused on our rarest and most complex beers. Society members will receive 10 members-only bottle releases throughout the year, along with a tasting room discount, exclusive merch, parties, and more.

The Forgotten Barrel Society has been in the works for nearly five years — back when we began our initial planning for Wild Mind. While we’ve been anxious to get the society started and begin sharing some incredible krieks, lambic-style ales, and other painstakingly aged sours with you, we decided it was best to not rush membership out for 2017. We wanted to make sure we could meet demand and maintain our high standards for every release. This society, and the member-exclusive beers it includes, is the core of what we wanted to do since day one, and it was important to us that we get it done the right way. Even if that meant waiting. The society runs from January 1st, 2018 through December 31st, 2018. Current year members will have the option to renew for 2019.

Memberships for the inaugural year of the Forgotten Barrel Society will be available online starting on November 7 at noon. Make sure you subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date and receive more information on the society.

We’re very excited to share this next phase of our brewery with all of you. Only 300 memberships are available and the cost is $300 plus tax and fees. They’ll go fast, so be sure you mark November 7 on your calendar. It’s been a wild first year, but the wildest beers are still to come.
